Solar enabled?
If your property has solar panels then you will need this feature on your EV charger. It’s also worth considering if you plan to install solar in the future.
We have a variety of EV chargers available to choose from with each having its own benefits and unique features. We install some of the most recognised EV charger names such as Wallbox, Andersen, Ohme, and Zappi – they each have features you will want to understand before making your choice. If you have no idea where to start, here are a few features to consider:
Pick the Right ChargerA tethered charger has the cable fixed to it. The cable is usually wound around the charger or holder on the wall and you simply unwind it and plug it into your vehicle. It’s quick and easy to use.
An untethered charger is essentially a dedicated EV socket outlet. The cable needs to be ordered separately but you can then choose the length and type you require. This is great if you want to change your car soon or share the charger with someone driving a different type of EV.

If your property has solar panels then you will need this feature on your EV charger. It’s also worth considering if you plan to install solar in the future.
You can monitor and manage the progress of the recharge from a remote device such as your phone or tablet.
The look of the charger will matter to some more than others. The colour, size, and design of each charger are different, so choose one that appeals to you. It could be a feature of your property for many years so how it looks is an important consideration.
The price of the EV charger will affect your decision. Many of them are inexpensive but make sure you are comfortable with the costs before making your final choice.
